MEET Lowercase strategies

About us

Over nearly a decade, we have learned that a major pitfall of successful social change is a “me over we” mindset to social justice work.

Our principal, while organizing on his college campus, experienced first-hand the downsides of uplifting a singular face and voice in lieu of highlighting the many people it takes to win positive change for any institution or community. From these experiences, he chose to reclaim his first name, aurelius, and to keep it lowercase, in the ilk of bell hooks, vowing to highlight the work he was doing over his own individual acclaim. This strategy firm moves from this vital lesson that collectivism is the only way to embark on transformation sustainably.
